MILA DIETRICH

Inspired by minimal, EBM, and trance, his haunting groove tracks distill lustful and somber stories. Priestess of nocturnal outlets, oozing mazes and dancefloors with no future, her technoid flashes will guide you through the dark.

Originally from Marseille (France), the DJ and producer of electronic music Mila Dietrich first intended for rock, when she started playing drums at the age of 10. Throughout her adolescence, she went from group to group, hosting rehearsals in the cellar located under the family home. Around 16, she began to attend electronic evenings in Marseille, took musical slaps at the Docks des Suds, where she saw the best DJs on the minimal techno scene (Boris Brejcha, Extrawelt …), and learned about productions of Miss Kittin, The Hacker or Louisahhhh! (“The rock side of electro”) She discovers that she does not need anyone to make a career in music, especially since she feels more and more cramped within her rock band.

Naturally, the artist, who is teeming with ideas, went towards electro. After a few test balloons in Marseille bars, she quickly went into production on Ableton, which allowed her to unleash her creative impulses, releasing singles and EP over the Internet.

After five years, after playing in all the places that matter in Marseille (the Baby, the Black Lady, the Friche Belle de Mai …), the DJ, whose models are Jennifer Cardini or Chloé, the figures of the legendary LGBT club in the capital, the Pulp (“Even if I have never been, I feel like my roots come from there”), decides to move up a gear and go up to Paris.

Opportunities quickly accumulated for the young artist, two pieces of which were chosen by L’Oréal for an advertisement. In 2019, we saw her mix on the Sacem float during the Techno Parade, in the Parisian clubs Petit Bain or A la Folie, on tour with the duo Kompromat, at Cabaret Aléatoire or at Dame Noir in Marseille, or in festivals such as Scopitone in Nantes, Elektrik Park in Chatou or Inasound in Paris (before the Rex Club or the Breton Panorama festival in 2020). She also won first place in BPM Contest 2019, thanks to her mix of techno and electro, cold wave, EBM and progressive trance, settling in the list of new French artists to follow closely.
